Alison, Maggie, Linda and Ruth - S2 | E2
Update: 2023-05-1815
Description
For most of her life, Alison could not foster strong, solid friendships, and her mother's death in secondary school only isolated her further from people she would have wanted to connect with. But in university, everything changed. Alison takes us through her story of loss and redemption as her experiences in friendship and sisterhood teach her how to intentionally keep those she loves in her life, and this time, on her own terms. I LOVE Allison's idea of friendship,I would like to ask or to be asked to be friendsπ...I always thought I was weird in thinking that friendship breakups hurt more than romantic relationships but she's validated me.I would love to have a friend like her because she sounds so mature and intentional π
My take away, how to be more intentional in friendships. Thank you Allison for the gems you've shared and thank you Jules for the platform, keep doing thisππ½π
I dnt think you can compare friendships with romantic relationships. With romantic relationships there is another level of connection and intimacy especially when you get physical with someone. When you break up with someone it definitely hurts differently. My two cents. I also think Alison invests so much in friendships which is not necessarily a bad thing but I think with age she will realise that with some friendships you just move on and it's harder to make friends. I have noted from 30 and mostly from 35 your genuine friendships decline.
alison is very intelligent, and caring. a quality many friendships lack
